Picture Perfect Photography

Many thanks to Daniel Wragg photography for this very informative and useful article on wedding photography.
I started taking Photographs because I love people. I love having fun and I love photographing people having fun. Which is why I love to photograph weddings. They are full of excitement, drama and emotion not unlike a Hollywood production.
As a wedding photographer, I have the pleasure of capturing the day’s events and presenting them to be seen for years to come. For me it’s about capturing the whole day, not just the main event but also the bits in between, the fleeting moments, the laughs, the smiles and sometimes the tears. I am often asked questions about the whole process, how best to do this, how best to do that. So I thought I would offer up my own suggestions for booking a photographer to record your day. It’s a pretty important job, so it’s crucial that you make the right choice. Do some homework. Spend some time looking at wedding photographs and wedding albums. Consider what it is about those photographs that you like and what you don’t like. The web is a great place to start. Make a little scrap book of things you like and things you don’t. Know what you want. Meet some Photographers. Talk to them! Ask lots of questions and explain your ideas. Does the photographer’s style fit in with your own ideas? Does he/she share your artistic vision of the day? Look at the photographer’s portfolio? Make sure that you meet the person who will be taking your photographs. Coverage. Do you want just the ceremony photographed, or do you want pictures of the reception, and cake cutting too? Asks the photographer about rates for different coverage, maybe even a tailored package. Remember: More coverage = more money. Build a relationship. Find a photographer who shares your ideas, and your enthusiasm. The very best photographs come when everyone is having fun and relaxed. Communication is the key, make sure that they understand exactly what you want. Understand packages. There is a huge range of services that wedding photographers provide, from presentation options to online galleries and ordering, it’s really important that you know exactly what is included in your package, what costs extra and how much. Ensure reliability. Make sure there is a backup plan if your photographer falls ill, has an accident. I think that about covers the basics, I hope that you have found this helpful and I wish you all the best on your own wedding.
